Howdy Ya'll,
My name is Billy Jones, also known as, Billy The Blogging Poet "TM".
I have another more grown-up poetry blog but I can't link to it because
not everything there is written for all ages. I promise, everything you
read here at LaureatesKids.com is something your parents would approve
of. I know that lots of younger readers like my poetry so that's why I
started this website.
I'm not really a poet laureate even though I trademarked the title, Poet Laureate Of North America "TM"
several years ago. You see, it's really just a publicity trick based on
a joke I played on some friends a few years ago. I do hope to someday
become a real poet laureate, perhaps even the United States Poet
Laureate, but for now I'll just be happy if lots of people like you
read and enjoy my poetry and stories. And perhaps buy my books.
There are a number of things you won't find here at
LaureatesKids.com
including e-mail links, commenting systems, 'chat' clients, and links
to other blogs
unless those blogs are "Mom Approved" by none other than my Mom as my
mom is now a great-grandmother, a former elementry school teacher, and
an expert on what children should be reading. Like your mom, Mom is
very fussy about what she thinks children should be reading. She's also
my editor--
sometimes.
