......93. Water Fowl 94. Water Fowl 95. Water Fowl 96. Water Fowl 97. Water Fowl... What am I doing? One of my teachers read my story and called to say I had been misspelling Water Fowl as Water Foul so I corrected the text and Im writing it 100 times just like she told me to do. 98. Water Fowl 99. Water Fowl 100. Water Fowl... There, finished. Thank you Mrs. Janoski, I think I got it now.
Wow, that was a lot of water fowl!
Now, back to our story. Lets see, where were we? Yeah, yeah, I got it.
When Scottie awoke the next morning, Merlin was sleeping beside him with one webbed foot pinning the little hopping box to the ground. Rubbing his eyes in disbelief, Scottie said, Merlin, you found the box.
Quack, Merlin replied, but he wasnt saying he found the box. No, what Merlin said was, The box found me. You see, had you been listening in Mrs. Janoskis class youd understand Water Fowl and you would have known that already. What? You didnt take a second language when you were in school? Shame on you.
What do you mean, the box found you? Scottie asked.
Quack, Merlin answered as he explained how the box came back on its own ac cord. And no, Merlin didnt mean that the box was driving a Ho nda Ac cord, Merlin meant that the stray box came back all on its own.
Oh well, Scottie said as he reached to lift the box from under Merlins foot, at least it came back. Do you think the man will still pay us the five dollars?
Merlin only shook his head and lifted his shoulders as if to say he didnt know. The fact is, while Merlin might not be one to complain very much, he was really sore from all the running the day before and more than a little disappointed that he didnt get to see Donald Duck at the theater and he didnt feel much like talking. Do you think we can find our way back? Scottie asked as he rose to his feet still clutching the hopping box in his hand.
Quack, quack, Merlin shouted as he leapt from the ground and flew up above the tree tops. What he meant was, I can see the way far better with a birds eye view.
