Scottie walked into the store
and took a look around.
There were biscuits, burgers, pies, and Cokes,
but no duck food to be found.
As he walked the isles he wondered,
What can I feed a duck and me?
And it was then he looked upon a shelf,
and do you know what he seed?

“Peanut Butter Crackers,” Scottie thought aloud.
Merlin’s bound to like it.” He thought himself so proud.

So Scottie reached up to grab a jar of peanut butter in one hand and a box of crackers with his other hand, and walked to the check out counter. “That comes to three dollars plus tax,” the cashier said with a smile.

“But I don’t have any tacks,” Scottie replied.

“Do you have any money?” she asked.

“Sure do,” Scottie answered as he reached into his pocket and put all the coins from his piggy bank on the counter.

“Have a nice day,” the cashier smiled as she counted the coins and gave Scottie back his change.

“But what about the tacks,” Scottie asked, obviously concerned that he needed tacks to finish paying for the food.

“Don’t worry about it, Honey,” she said, “I took care of it for you.”

“Thank you,” Scottie said as he put his change back into his pocket, grabbed his bag, and headed towards the door to go back outside to where Merlin was waiting.
